Coherence
The basic goal of a team is to fulfill a purpose and members are mutually accountable for achieving common goals. If team members do not work together to achieve a goal and without a force to pull each other in, the ultimate result will not be able to be delivered. Thus, the coherence has to be existed to maintain the spirit of team work.
Congruence
As a team, each member will contribute innovative ideas, suggestions, and thinking to resolve bottle-necks to achieve the common goals. Before arriving a compromise or a conclusion, team members have to work toward a direction to come to a group decision for conclusion. During the process, members start to agree on the decision. The congruence of final decision or conclusion will be in place to help members to focus on a team direction and conclusion.
Cooperation
Since individual member may be organized from different backgrounds; to name a few, family status, social status, education, job function, and culture. The behavior of members has to be cooperative to each others. Sometimes, the resources for a team are limited. Cooperation will help saving time and cost. Without dedicated cooperation, task may not be completed in time or budget cannot be well-maintained.
In short, building a team is not easy and making the team effective is much difficult. The presence of 3c can add momentum for a team to work effectively toward a common goal within a planned time horizon and budget.
