Marketing Via Web 2.0





Before we can discuss methods of marketing via Web 2.0 we must define what it is.

Web 2.0 is a term that refers to the supposed second generation of web-based communities such as social networking sites, blogs, and wikis which aim to facilitate creativity, collaboration, and information sharing among it’s users.

Now that we have an understanding of what Web 2.0 here is a list of methods being implemented today to network marketing:

1. Blogging: Search engines love blogs and they are a great way to increase your website’s traffic. Most blogs allow the author to create a “bio” which can be used include a link to your network marketing business.

2. Social networking sites: Websites like MySpace, Facebook, and Yuwie are a great way to network with other people and get your network marketing business some much needed exposure. You can blog, post bulletins, and join a variety of business and entrepeneurial groups.

3. Article Marketing: Like blogging, search engines love articles and these are a very effective way to get exposure to your business. There are many free article submission sites on the web and the great thing is webmaster can use your article for website content giving you even more exposure.

4. Video Marketing: Video sharing sites like YouTube are a great way to generate interest in your program or product. Videos are among the highest listed on Google.

5. Safelists: You can join free credit-based safelists which are made up of people who have opted in or agreed to receive emails. You can usually send thousands of free emails as long as you have enough credits. The only drawback to joining a safelist is you will have your email inbox full of safelist emails everyday.

6. Traffic Exchanges: When you join a traffic exchange you can post one or more URLs on the traffic exchange for other people to view. Some traffic exchanges are credit-based and/or credit purchase exchanges. You accumulate credits by surfing other sites listed on the traffic exchange or you can purchase additional credits. The more credits you have accumulated or purchased, the more exposure you can gain your website.

7. Forums: By joining networking marketing discussion forums there will be opportunities to promote your website, product, or program if the website allow it free of charge.

8. Classified ads: Probably not the most effective method of marketing but with so many available for free, they’re hard to pass up.

9. Signature Lines: Most email programs will allow you to create your own custom signature line where you can include a URL to your business, service, or product on every outgoing email.

In conclusion, the days of simply putting up a website and drawing traffic to it have cleared the way to a new way of marketing called Web 2.0. If used effectively this type of creative marketing can have a significant impact on your business.
