So you finally create the website of your dreams and have it up and running. You have packed it with great content and put a lot of time and effort into creating it. However, how will you get people to notice it? Many people get caught up in the hype of creating a website that they simply forget how they will market it. Well being that this is a growing problem I have decided to compile a list of 4 free ways to get your website noticed.

The first thing you can do is use directory submission sites. They have thousands of directories on the web and many of them are free. The only thing you have to do is submit your link with a brief description of your site and you will create a link. You will begin to get traffic from the people who browse or search in that directory but it also helps with your SEO efforts.

Secondly, you want to use social bookmarking to really explode your exposure. Social bookmarking has grown massively with sites such as Digg and Delicious. By submitting good content to these sites you will begin to create a steady stream of visitors. One tip to keep in mind is to only submit your best content. You want to create a great first impression and what better way to do that than providing great content?

Thirdly you can use reciprocal links to gain exposure. The more links you have pointing back to your website the better. But quality of the backlinks is better than quantity. Be sure to get backlinks from sites in your related niche. Also, but posting on forums, blogs, and videos will help you gain exposure.

Finally, you just want to be sure to create some publicity about your site. Go out there and make some good videos and write articles that are relevant to your niche. Be sure to put your URL everywhere that you can. Include it in your email signature, business cards, and if you are feeling really good your car! Just be on the lookout constantly for ways in which you can spread your URL.

If you want your website to be a success you must take advantage of the resources I have supplied you with above. Creating a website and filling it with great content is just half the battle and you must drive traffic for it to be successful. By getting the word out there on as many different channels you can you are increasing the exposure of your URL and will certainly see a rise in traffic.
